Places to go for Valentine’s Day 2017 in Singapore

If you’ve yet to book somewhere nice for Valentine’s Day, here are some places that have prepared lovely menus so you can celebrate the day with that special someone in style.

Akira Back

Tuna and mushroom pizza.

The restaurant at the newly-launched JW Marriott Singapore South Beach will be featuring a modern Japanese six-course dinner menu this Valentine’s Day. Priced at S$284++ per couple, it includes the signature Tuna and Mushroom Pizza, Chilled Corn Soup and Negi Toro Senbei.

Angelina

The renowned tea room and patisserie from Paris (located at Capitol Piazza) offers some delectable dishes on its four-course Valentine’s Day menu (S$75++ per person) such as baked oysters and a mouthwatering Tomahawk rack of pork. But the real highlight is the dessert, a lovely Babylone — a red almond meringue biscuit with white vanilla mousse, raspberry confit and strawberry marshmallows. Finish the meal with a mini hot chocolate, coffee or tea.

Artemis

Enjoy Valentine’s Day dinner with a view at Artemis. Perched on the 40th floor of the CapitaGreen building, the restaurant will offer a four-course menu (S$148 per person) by chef Fernando Arevalo where diners get an amuse bouche, followed by their choice of starter, main course and dessert. Some great options include the Gambaro Rosso, a dish of flash-blanched prawns for starters and a Wagyu Hanger Steak for mains.

Basilico

Basilico at Regent Hotel will put on a Basilissimo (Best of Basilico) Valentine’s Dinner  (S$138 per guest) on 14th February where guests are invited to an intimate evening complete with a glass of welcome bubbly, followed by a medley of antipasti at the appetiser buffet and an enticing cheese station, complete with a burrata bar. Some menu highlights include Roasted Lobster Tail with Campari Zabaione, Grilled Angus Beef Tenderloin served with Foie Gras Ravioli and Aged Balsamic Vinegar and sweets the likes of pastry chef Alex Chong’s ‘Garden of Love’ chocolate dessert room. Guests also stand the opportunity to take part in a raffle draw that will see three couples win a luxurious experience at the hotel with the first prize being a one-night weekend stay for two in a Deluxe room.

Cheek by Jowl

Cheek by Jowl’s five-course Valentine’s Day Menu ($98++ per person) consists of dishes such as Pickled Kingfishpaired with creamy charred avocado, and sherry dressing; as well as a roasted Lamb Saddle with burnt eggplant, roasted salsify, and a mixture of puffed bulgar wheat, quinoa, and barley.

The Disgruntled Brasserie

Guests at The Disgruntled Brasserie will get to enjoy a lovely six-course romantic dinner starting with Homemade Onion Brioche followed by the Tapioca & Duck, Mushroom Faric before indulging in some Chilled Lobster, Pan Roasted Mackerel and Beef Cheek Parmentian. For a final touch, dig into the decadent Chocolate Cremeux Explosion that is served with nougat, vanilla sponge and raspberry sorbet. The menu is priced at S$88 per person (inclusive of a glass of Laurent Perrier Brut NV).

The Summerhouse Dining Room

Chef Florian Ridder of the recently-launched The Summerhouse Dining Room has come up with two farm to table menus (six and 10 courses) this Valentine’s Day that are inspired by nature and feature fresh seasonal produce from growers and producers in Singapore and Malaysia. Look out for dishes such as Kelong Rojak with live prawns from a kelong in Pulau Ubin and Buckwheat Porridge that is garnished with edible herbs from the edible garden. The menus are only available for dinner on the 11th and 14th February and are priced at S$300++ for the six-course menu and S$600++ for the 10-course menu (inclusive of two glasses of Champagne and a bouquet by Poppy Floral Studio).

Whitegrass

Whitegrass will be showcasing an eight-course Valentine’s Day menu priced at S$280++ on 14th February 2017. It includes dishes such as Raw Shaved Japanese Yellowtail that is served with white vereduna, land caviar and smoked organic soy, the Australian Jade Tiger Abalone with Three Treasures  that features abalone baked in wakame and a salt crust for six minutes as well as the White Cut Free-Range Organic Chicken, White Grass’s chef/owner Sam Aisbett’s homage to the local favourite chicken rice.

Zafferano

Hokkaido scallop ‘tartare’ with Russian caviar.

On 14th February, the team at Zafferano will turn the restaurant into a romantic candlelit haven, decorated with beautiful red roses and a musical performance from national harpist Mifiona Quah. Food-wise, head chef Marco Guccio will prepare a five-course meal starting with a selection of canapés at the Terrace Lounge followed by dishes such as Sicilian red prawns and buffalo ricotta, Hokkaido scallop ‘tartare’ with Russian caviar before ending off on a sweet note with dessert bar. The menu is priced at S$218++ per person
