#Fiquestagram: First Day of School 2017 Special

A brand new year can bring many things, but for the kids, it means the start of a school year or for some, their first time ever in school. Here’s at the looks little munchkins sported last week before they headed off with their backpacks.

My baby's 1st day in school today… Someone told me she felt I gave Alexis lesser time and attention compared to Lauren. That is why she is always so difficult to handle. Because she wanted our attention. 5 years ago, I sourced up and down for a preschool for Lauren. Recced all schools and enrichment classes. But for Alexis, we decided on the preschool that is walking-distance from our place. Not because we love her less or couldn't be bothered but because we have been there and done that so we know what we needed straight away. Yes it is convenient, but we also wanted to avoid letting her take the school bus, we wanted her to sleep a little longer, we wanted someone to be able to reach the school the soonest if school calls for an emergency. We love her for sure… just that Papa and Mummy had been through 5 years of trial and error with Sis Lauren, planning stuffs for Alexis become a "oh, I know how" immediately. We love you Alexis…. It was the first day of school for Charlene’s younger daughter Alexis and she penned down her thoughts on how there’s less anxiety over where to send her number two to school as compared to her older daughter Lauren.

I've anticipated this day for so long, babygirl. I don't know why I expected tears, and that you might put up a fight but all you had for us today were high fives and smiles. I saw you nibbling your fingers as you do when you get a little nervous, but first days are scary and you took it on so well! I guess you should thank daddy for that pep talk. ? We love you forever and a lifetime more, #ZolaMae. You are officially a smelly schoolgirl!

The ever bubbly Zola Mae had a good surprise for mum Aarika on the first day of school. Instead of tears and a fight that her mum was expecting, little Zola gave high fives.

3 Jan 17 [f2yo] :: It was 7am and she was due to wake from her slumber. But she cried for mommy instead. I told her from two nights ago that if she cries, I will no longer go to her so "Please find mommy in my room when you wake okay? Let's not call me by way of crying this year." Daddy carried her to me instead. She did not attempt to walk. While she snuggled next to me, I changed her out of her Pjs and into her uniform. Oh dear! One half of her back-tie on her dress came off! Instead of sewing it back, I pulled off the other side as well. What cute matching hair ribbons they make!
