Best Baby Bumps Of The 2017 Awards Season

By Samantha Jong
February 27, 2017

Grammys, BAFTAs, the Golden Globe Awards and the Oscars — it seems like awards season has come and gone in the blink of an eye. With 2017 looking to be year that we welcome a bumper crop of celebrity babies, it’s no surprise that there were many elegantly-dressed bumps spotted walking down the red carpet. Here are some the most eye-catching ones.

Amal Clooney

George Clooney is one tall drink of water but he paled in comparison to his wife Amal with her custom-made Atelier Versace Gown that beautifully shows off her growing baby bump. She finished off her 2017 Cesar Film Awards look with glamorous curls and a simple red lip.

Beyonce

She may not have walked the red carpet at the Grammys but all eyes were still on Beyonce to see what she would wear at her first public appearance since she announced that she was pregnant. And of course Queen B made a statement by slipping into a fabulous red, shimmery, plunging number after her epic performance.

Natalie Portman

The pregnant actress who was nominated for all the Best Actress awards (or its equivalent) across all the major awards this year couldn’t make it for the Oscars, but she looked resplendent on the other red carpets she walked on.

She absolutely regal in this empire cut PRADA gown that skimmed her baby bump. The crystal embroidery provided just enough bling to glam up the number for the occasion and she stood out amongst the sea of bodycon, skin-baring dresses.

At the 23rd Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards, Natalie opted for yet another flowy piece. Choosing to go with Dior haute couture this time round, we love how the simplicity of her gown allowed for her other accessories to stand out, especially those fan shaped earrings.

Ciara

Blue is one of my favorite colors..

Pyjamas as daywear is right on trend now and Ciara shows how to carry off the trend without looking like you just rolled out of bed at the Grammys after-party in her blue and white striped robe by Off-White. With her robe being the main focus, she kept the rest of the outfit simple with a black ribbed top tucked into satin pants, and a red lip, choker and top knot as her only accessories. Definitely one of the more wearable red carpet outfits that won’t look too out of place elsewhere.

She also looked like the epitome of elegance at the Elton John AIDS Foundation Oscars Viewing Party, where she paired a floor length duster robe with a white jewelled scoop necked gown from August Getty Atelier.

Gal Gadot

Gal chose to go with a striking multi-coloured sequinned Mugler gown with a sexy slit up the front and plunging neckline. She kept the rest of her look simple — hair pulled back, dark nails and a nude, no-makeup look. We think the best part of her outfit was her ‘barely there from some angles’ baby bump!

Camilla Luddington

Camilla chose a figure-skimming shiny charcoal dress from Heidi Merrick for the People’s Choice Awards. Those who don’t feel comfortable with showing skin can take a page out of her book —instead of going for bold blatant cut outs, she decided to cheekily show skin with mesh cutouts down the side. We could hardly believe that she was already in her third trimester then.
